Are You Ready for Revival? – National Peace Officer’s Appreciation Week: October 2-6, 2013

For the past few years, I have had the incredible privilege of getting to know some amazing men and women who are leaders both in law enforcement and in the Christian faith.  It seems that God has truly brought us together for “such a time as this.”  Our conversations have repeatedly included statements like, “God is up to something!”, and our prayers have been pleas for revival in this profession, in our homes, in our agencies, and in our communities.  These men and women are on fire for Jesus, and change is taking place.

I can sense the excitement mounting for this year’s National Peace Officer Appreciation Week.  It will be held October 2-6, 2013 as a joint effort in Elkhart, IN.  There are too many names to name, and I have a feeling they don’t want the recognition anyway.  They, like me, want an outpouring of God’s Spirit and aren’t concerned with who gets the credit.

FUN!  It’s going to be fun!  Just take a look at the schedule and promotional video to see what will be taking place.  There will be activities for the whole family, and will include shooting competitions, axe throwing, archery, and more.  Just watch the video and then keep reading!

FELLOWSHIP!  There’s going to be fellowship!  Several ministries are partnering together, including the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers, the Christian Police/Prison Association, Covered Law Enforcement, just to name a few.  There will be law enforcement officers and family members from around the country spending time encouraging and strengthening one another.

FAITH!  There’s going to be an emphasis on the Christian Faith and renewal within the criminal justice system!  The FCPO is holding their annual FCPO-USA National Conference here, and I have the privilege of speaking during one of the sessions again this year.  I’m looking forward to the other speakers and hearing what God is saying to us through them.  There’s also going to be leadership sessions, and a special Chief/Sheriff’s breakfast.

I’ve barely scratched the surface of all that is going to take place, and hopefully you can sense the excitement.  The entire schedule is posted below.  Please keep us in prayer, and join us in praying that God would bring about much needed renewal within our profession.  If it is at all possible, make plans now to join us.  I hope to see you there!
