James Dean Hostetter, 51 of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010. He was a native of Bluffton, Ind., and had lived in Chattanooga since 1977. James was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He had worked security for Silverdale Baptist Church for over nine years and at Grace Baptist Church this past year. James was a 15 year veteran with the Chattanooga Police Department, serving as a Property Crimes Investigator. He was a Hunter Safety Course Instructor, member of the NRA and an avid marksman.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Wisner Hostetter; son, James Andrew Hostetter, Chattanooga; daughter, Marie Ann Hostetter, Wilmington, N.C.; parents, James E. Hostetter and Judi Roeback Hostetter; sisters, Debbie Richard, Centerville, Tenn., and Beth McVicker, Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Euler and Rev. Harris Stuermer officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with full Police Honors. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of various Law Enforcement Agencies.
